Professional Line - Smart Managed 19" / Rackmount Switche
The abbreviation SFP stands for Small Form-factor Pluggable. The SFP port is a connection port into which a standardised module can be inserted to connect to the network. These modules are called SFP transceivers or mini-GBIC (transceivers). SFP ports in a network device such as a switch offer numerous advantages. They provide more flexibility, efficiency and future-proofing. SFP modules are quick and easy to replace. The network devices can be easily converted to other transmission technologies and media. Defective modules can be replaced at low cost and do not require repair or replacement of the complete switch. In addition to SFP ports, SFP + ports are also defined for standard expansion. SFP + (Enhanced Small Form Factor Pluggable) supports a higher data rate of 10 gigabits per second and is the successor to SFP.
