More and more households are getting virtual assistants, such as Amazon's® echo/echo dot, known as "Alexa". Thanks to the ongoing project in the area of the Internet of Things, Amazon® allows users to integrate individual scenarios and control them simply by voice command.

So it makes sense to also connect and control the intelligent building control system from the ALLNET MSR product range with Amazon® echo.

In order to connect Amazon® echo with the MSR device, for example the ALL3500 control panel, ALLNET offers a skill - comparable to an app. You can easily download this via the Amazon® Skill Store in the Alexa app. The skill can be opened via a voice command on Amazon® echo.

Supported sensors and actuators:

  •     Temperature sensors
  •     Contact inputs (door contacts, motion detectors and other contacts)
  •     Switch relays and sockets
  •     RGB controllers (dimming, switching and changing colour).

WHAT YOU NEED

  •     An ALLNET MSR central unit (for example ALL3419, ALL3500) with configured sensors/actuators.
  •     The current ALLNET MSRCloud software module with free ALLNET MSR Cloud access = https://msr.802.cloud
  •     A free Amazon® access

Please note that the ALLNET MSR Cloud user name must be the same as the one you used for your Amazon account.

ALLNET msrCloud Module Authentication

Logging into the msrCloud is done by directly creating a new account in the device. The device is also automatically created/registered in the msrCloud awhen the account is created.

Module Configuration

After successful registration, the view changes directly to the overview of the elements. A device that has already been registered shows the registration ID here.

The module can be activated/deactivated manually here.

The threshold value* can be used to set the value from which different messages are sent. (min. 0.1 - default setting) The log level* can be set and the log file can be viewed. Keepalive* - Vital sign interval in which the client reports to the server. Changes must be confirmed by clicking on Enter Save.

Data transmission

Here, each element can be selected or deselected individually for transfer.
After clicking on the respective checkbox, the element is automatically created in the msrCloud if it is not available. If an element is deselected, the element is only switched offline in the msrCloud. By clicking the checkbox in the headline row (send value/read value) all elements are selected/deselected at once.
The module is automatically activated when the first element is selected for transmission or deactivated when the last element is deselected. Activated elements are transmitted when the value is changed (see threshold value).
